Thank you for choosing Jon’s NW Outdoors. This page outlines the services Jon offers.
Bass fishing in the Northwest has grown quickly, and many anglers now search for new ways to enjoy time outdoors. As cold-water fisheries face tighter regulations, warm-water options continue to attract more people each year. Because of this shift, Western Washington now offers incredible trophy smallmouth opportunities, and it also provides strong largemouth fisheries across the region. With that in mind, my services are designed to help you make the most of these waters through expert guidance, quality equipment, and a smooth, well-organized experience.
When you join me on the lake, you get more than a standard fishing trip. Instead, you receive a fun and educational day that blends instruction with hands-on practice. Throughout the trip, I explain how different techniques work, why bass behave the way they do, and how you can read changing conditions to improve your results. As we move from one area to another, you learn useful tips that help you become a stronger and more confident angler. Ultimately, my goal is simple. I want you to finish the day eager to return for another adventure.

What to Expect
Boat
To start, you will fish from a 2022 Caymas CX 21 Pro powered by a Mercury 300 HP Pro XS. This setup mirrors what you see in professional tournaments, yet it remains comfortable and stable for all experience levels. Additionally, the boat features fully integrated Lowrance electronics, a Lowrance Ghost trolling motor, and Power Poles for precise control. As a result, the ride stays smooth, efficient, and ready for any pattern we choose to target.
Tackle
Next, I provide all rods, reels, and baits. Because anglers have different skill levels, I offer both spinning and baitcasting gear. Furthermore, the equipment is high-quality and easy to use. If you prefer to bring a lucky lure or your own rod, you are welcome to do so, since this trip is built around your comfort and enjoyment.
Food and Drink
Additionally, please bring your favorite drinks and lunch. The boat includes a built-in cooler with plenty of room to keep everything cold all day.
Sunglasses and Sunscreen
Moreover, polarized sunglasses will help cut glare and improve visibility, especially when we sight-fish. Bring sunscreen as well, although I keep extra on board if you need it.
Clothing
Finally, keep a close eye on the weather forecast. Conditions in the Northwest can shift quickly, so plan to layer even on sunny days. Packable rain gear is smart when showers threaten, and cool morning runs across the lake often call for an extra layer.
With the right preparation, the right gear, and the right services, your day on the water will be both productive and memorable.
